Sensations, Inc. v. City of Grand Rapids, 526 F.3d 291 (6th Cir. 2008)

Seeking to preserve the quality of its community, the City of Grand Rapids engaged the firm to assist with updating its sexually oriented business regulations concerning strip clubs and peep show booth operations. Area adult businesses challenged the regulations in federal court but were denied a preliminary injunction. The City then promptly moved for judgment on the pleadings on all issues, and the Western District of Michigan ruled in the City's favor. On appeal, the Sixth Circuit affirmed the district court's decision for the City, both on the constitutionality of the ordinance and on the procedural process used to resolve the case.
