The Law Office of Scott D. Bergthold has the knowledge and experience to handle all of a municipality's adult business-related legal needs.  Whether the city is currently developing its first ordinance, updating outdated regulations, or defending its zoning or licensing restrictions in state or federal court, the firm can help the city develop an effective and constitutionally sound approach to handling adult businesses.

Mr. Bergthold has served cities and counties nationwide in a variety of capacities. As a consultant, he has assisted municipalities of different sizes in the research and drafting of adult use zoning, licensing, and conduct regulations.  In litigation, he has acted as both co-counsel and lead counsel in state and federal cases. Mr. Bergthold has also served as appellate counsel in a number of high-profile adult business cases in the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Recently, Mr. Bergthold was the city's principal brief author in City of Littleton v. Z.J. Gifts D-4, LLC, in which the United States Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in favor of Littleton's adult entertainment licensing ordinance.  Mr. Bergthold has also served as amicus counsel in the Supreme Court on behalf of national organizations such as the International Municipal Lawyers Association, the National League of Cities, and the American Planning Association.
